Another artist I admire is the lovely Zoey Frank. I met Zoey at Gage Academy of Art where she studied with Juliette Aristides. Her final year there, she won the best of Gage, best of show, and her epic painting sold instantly to a local collector. Since leaving Seattle to study elsewhere, including Laguna College of the Arts, her precise painting style has loosened up. She now teaches and paints in Colorado and shows her work around the USA and Europe. The piece I collected from Zoey is a kitchen scene with two people in the composition. You see a cluttered refrigerator top with coffee pot and teapots, and in the foreground a bag ready for recycling. It’s a modern scene with modern colors and themes. You can watch her painting process in this video.
I love this painting so much! It seems like friends cooking together on a lazy Sunday morning. She’s an up and coming artist to watch! Zoey Frank’s website here.
