I spent time the other day with my favorite 8 year old and we made art. First she came to a painting studio where I routinely paint on Tuesdays for 3 hours, with a group of other painters. I told her she had to be quiet while we paint. (For 20 minutes she said “No problem, I can stay quiet for 2 whole hours!”)

We painted side by side and during a break we went shopping at the store the group meets in. (Brilliant idea- class in a store!) On break we bought a marker pen and a kit with scratch board- rainbow color and it came with stencils! Over lunch we played with that and it was fun! I plan to use it with my class at the retirement home.
